About the Author
Heather Joy is an aspiring blogger and song writer. She has been blogging since 2006 at various locations across the web, and has taken up e-residence right here at Grow Up! since June of 2010.
Heather was adopted at the age of 8-weeks by a wonderful, Christian family, and she made sure of her salvation in July of 2009 at the age of 21. She was homeschooled K through 12, attended one year of Bible college at Crown College of the Bible studying Secondary Education (history/music), and earned a double-Associates’ Degree in Business Management/General Business from a local community college near her home in Michigan. She is currently attending a local university in pursuit of her Bachelors and Masters Degrees in Business Management.
Having played the piano since the age of three, she started her own business as a private piano teacher in 2005, which she currently works part-time. In addition, she works full-time for the US Federal Government as a type of travel clerk dealing with short-term deployments and the like for both military and civilian personnel.
She is currently single – content, fully satisfied, and joyful – knowing that this season of singleness is God’s will for her life. On a daily basis the Lord is teaching her patience, that it may have its “perfect work, that [she] may be perfect and entire, wanting nothing” (James 1:4). Indeed, the relationship she shares with the Creator of the ends of the earth is more fulfilling and more rewarding than any other relationship she could ever experience here on earth. Of course, like every girl, her prayer is that marriage be in her future; however, she is waiting on God’s timing and for Him to bring along His best for her. One of her favorite quotes is by Eric Ludy, “If I ever expected a match made in Heaven, I knew I had to give Him the pen to write my love story.”
Heather’s desire is to glorify the Lord with her life; her heart’s passion is to be used in any way at all to lead others to a saving knowledge of the Savior, encourage believers too keep pressing on, and edify the body of Christ to strive for a life of holiness. She is open to any area of ministry the Lord may call her to, whether it be locally serving or moving across the ocean as a missionary in foreign lands. Her life verse is found in Romans 5:20 – “Moreover the law entered, that the offence might abound. But where sin abounded, grace did much more abound.” Having personally experienced God’s grace in a way beyond measure in her own life, she deeply believes that no living soul is beyond the reach of God’s saving hand.

Every road I walked had led to nowhere;
Everything I tried had turned out wrong.
It seemed I’d lost a reason to get up every morning;
I had lost all hope and lost my song.
Circumstances said I wouldn’t make it,
But that was all before I met The Man.
He put His arms around me;
I heard Him say, “Forgiven!”
And I knew I’d never be the same again.
Then and there, settled and done;
Then and there, victory won!
No more walking on my own,
No more facing life alone,
No more struggling with guilt and despair,
New life began, then and there.

Hello Heather,
One of my fellow bloggers, Peggy (from Amazing Grace), mentioned you, asking readers to “take that time to visit…”
I read your post about the first visit and injection treatment. I find strength, candor, sincerity and grace in your words. As a man, I have no frame of reference that I can recall to identiify with your experience. As a Christian, I can call on the name of our Lord and lift you up in prayer.
I believe that God gives opportunities to us (believers in Christ), in order to demonstrate to the world around us that He reigns supreme. I lift you up before the Lord, thanking Him for the gift He has stirred up in you to inspire, encourage and bless others; may the Lord continue to use you for His good purpose.
Blessings and peace.
MTJ
MTJ,
Thank you ever so much for stopping by to visit and for leaving your kind comment.
It is a blessing to know that there are people all around (even people I have never met face-to-face) praying for me.
I have no doubt that God is working through all of this. I willingly surrender my body to be a reasonable service and acceptable sacrifice to His cause that He might recieve glory.
May God continue to richly bless you!

What a joy to an old heart to find a young lady so committed to putting God first in her life! Having worked with teens for many years I consider the teen and early adult years to be the “danger” years regarding spiritual development.
I’m looking forward to reading more.

Angela, thank you for visiting my blog. I had a time and a half over at your blogs – the truths you have written! I loved it.
God bless,
Heather Joy
May GOD Bless you Heather!!! Love , Mark
How can I express all the emotion I feel right now but to simply say ‘I love you dearly’? That’s the best way to put it. Life has certainly been busy, and event filled, heartbreaking and joyous, over recent months. For both of us, it looks like
I find at the strangest times God brings you to my mind…sitting on my bedroom floor at 3 a.m., shopping for boots for Lyssa, waiting in the deli line at the grocery, shaving my legs in the shower (lol!)… and all of those times I wonder what specific thing is happening with you right then. I know it’s something. And I know it’s for a reason. Even though hours separate us,during those moments you’ve had my tears, my smiles, my laughs, and my worry….And ALWAYS my prayers. I love you, girly. Keep your chin up.
Sammy-O…
In fact, you always bring the biggest smile to my face.
i LOVE you. seriously.
Your comment was the biggest smile my face made today.
It’s funny you should mention all those ever-so-strange times that you think of me…. because I think of YOU at the most random of times as well… especially when I read Amish novels (is that weird?). haha.
Ummm… can I come visit you someday? Pleeeeease? *bats eyes*
I love you ever so much, and I am praying for you and your adorable {perfect} – don’t argue with me – daughters.
Love and smiles and sunshine and rainbows and… *ahem*

Whatever you think heevan is you’re not going to get it because it doesn’t exist. It’s a myth. Like Santa Clause, Elves, the Tooth Fairy and God…
Loving the blog! I enjoy it and look forward to your posts. Keep up the good work!
Thank you, Amos. I read the posts you publish on your blog – God is going to do great things in Korea through you. I’m looking forward to hearing (aka reading) more and more about it as it all unfolds. Let me know if you need help with anything.
Very cool like democracy.
…but I’ll never compare to tylertarver.com.
then again, who would? epic.
This is a very inspiring blog: filled with moments of poignant reflection and challenging insights. Me, I am a fan.
awesome poem.
Just linked you on my blog.
Thank you!
I’ve been meaning to link to your blog (I’ve actually been meaning to update my entire blogroll list), but I just haven’t had the time!
That is coming soon though!
Maybe that is why I liked your statement of faith so much- I graduated from Crown (secondary ed- history) and my wife attended for two years.
Looking forward to reading what you have written.
In Christ,
Ben
What years did you go to Crown?
I went it 2006 – and I also studied secondary edu (major in history, minor in music). :]
I graduated in 2001. I can’t believe it’s been 10 years- makes me feel old.
My wife went in 2001 and 02. My sister graduated in either 05 or 06. In fact, she still lives around there.
Hello Heather,
Thank you for visiting my blog and hitting the ‘like’ button
Praying God will grant you the desires of your heart as you seek to be sold out for Him. May His love be so evident in your life that others would seek relationship with Him simply because of how He moves through you.
If you don’t mind, I’ll wander around a bit and read some more of your writings.
Blessings,
ann
Just recommended your blog to all my facebook friends. You delight the Savior. May your influence for him grow with each passing day and your passion for him never diminish.

May God continue to richly bless you.
Just put you on my blogroll. Hope it leads some more people to your site.
God richly bless you.
I have really enjoyed reading your blog posts. Keep them coming.
I am also a fell-o blogger, but have lost sight of my blog lately.
Thanks for your posts.

thank you for subscribing and ‘like’ my post. I was surprised to see that as I seem to be a bit different than you theologically. However, I think just comes from my difficulties with understanding the KJV ;>)
