updates here at Grow Up!
I’m trying to get back into the swing of things now that I have officially completed my Bachelors Degree! It feels great to have finally accomplished such a major undertaking! Next up — my Masters Degree, which will be starting in a few weeks. I must literally be insane…
oh! and my church is planning on starting it’s Bible Institute this fall, and I’m super interested in taking classes there as well! I just have to see how my time and finances line up with everything. But I would really love to go back and either finish up the degree I started at Crown College, or at least get some sort of Certificate.
Now, on to other business…
I spent the majority of my afternoon yesterday updating this blog and cleaning out old information. Check it out!
Snow day snippets {8.27.11}
Well, if you happened to cross this blog’s path yesterday, you probably noticed that this weekend’s SDS post published a day early. my bad.
And in that post I apologized for missing out on last weekend’s SDS post. Yeah, lately I’ve really been botching it up here, haven’t I…?
So, since I can’t seem to get a handle on the situation, perhaps you can do a little better job. Let’s try it, eh?
Snow day snippets {7.30.11}
This week is my church’s 35th annual Old Fashioned Tent Meeting, and it has been a time and a half! The special speakers this year were Evangelist Brian McBride, Evangelist Jason Kendrick, and Evangelist Doug Ramage – each of them did a fantastic job preaching the Word of God and ministering in the ways that God has gifted them to.
Question: what’s one of the most influential sermons/messages you’ve heard lately? Who preached it, and how did it affect your life?
Anywho, on to this weekend’s links below…

It’s been two weeks since my surgery, and I’m slowly but surely healing up – thank the Lord.
Thank you, thank you to all of you who have been praying for me and my family over the past couple weeks (and past several months, too!). You all are such a blessing to us.
The links in this week’s SDS posts are sort of a compilation making up a ”blast from the past” (ish) – if 2 or 3 weeks ago count as “the past.” So… enjoy. :]
Snow day snippets {7.16.11}
I’m alive! Surgery recovery is going well – although I’m not doing much of anything just yet. I’m still just kind of lounging around the house in my pajamas, sleeping most of the day away, becoming a cyclops in front of the TV, reading alot of books, etc and etc. Sounds great, eh? *shakes head*
I’m looking forward to being able to do “normal” things again in a couple weeks. And by “normal” I mean walking, laughing without ripping out any stitches, eating a normal meal, playing the piano, etc. For now though I just need to relax and heal completely before I run out there and take a stab at conquering the world again.
Anywho… enough rambling for today.

If any of you follow and read Tim Challies blog, you have probably noticed the trend of repeat links posted often in my SDS posts. What can I say – he finds some pretty neat stuff!
The first 3 links are indeed from a few of his ”A La Carte” posts that he publishes on pretty much a daily basis. Basically, my SDS posts are the equivilent of his A La Carte posts – except less frequest.
With that said, I hope you don’t mind my reposting links I find at his blog. I try to find links to articles elsewhere as well, but sometimes this doesn’t always happen. I’m trying though… really. :]
Snow day snippets {6.18.11}
How was everyone’s week? I had a short work week because yesterday was my regular bi-weekly day off — *sigh* yes, it was every bit of wonderful.
I’ve been stuck on a couple different blogs lately, so I’m going to post links to a couple posts from each blog. One is a blog I actually started last year with the intention of using it as an on-campus ministry at my local college. The ministry never got off the ground, but there were a couple other people interested in being part of the blog. The blog really hasn’t been updated for a couple months…
Happy {1 year} Blogiversary!
Do you know what today is? Well, the title should give it away, I suppose. :]
Grow Up! has been on the web for exactly one year today. That’s exciting – because if you recall this post {here}, you remember that I have a hard time with keeping interest in long-term projects. ha.
A year ago this blog was born with the intent to edify Christians and encourage them to live godly lives. To review that information, you can click on the first post I ever wrote regarding this blog {here} – published first as a note on facebook.
Snow day snippets {5.7.11}
Since last weekend’s SDS post a lot has happened. Countless “Royal Wedding” talk (meh…), Osama Bin Laden killed, doctors appointments up the wazzoo, church activities, Missions Trip Fundraisers, etc and etc. *sigh* It’s been busy.
I won’t bore you with more talk from me, so let’s just get started with this week’s links…
Goodness Gracious - “I do not believe that private citizens should take the law into their own hands to kill abortionists. But the same state that has spent millions of dollars and nearly ten years to hunt down one killer in Bin Laden, in those same years has spent millions of dollars to protect men like George Tiller whose grisly work has resulted in many times over the number of deaths Bin Laden gave us. God bless the USA?”
Snow day snippets {4.30.11}
This week was probably one of the most insane, busiest weeks I’ve had in a long time. Yesterday I felt like I was slowly slipping into a mental condition worthy of the psych ward. Then I hit a sugar high when I was helping bake little cakes for a Missions Trip fundraiser. It was crazy.
So, needless to say, I’m thankful that the weekend is here, despite the fact that I’m not going to see much of it. It’s a jam-packed weeked full of events and activities and music practices. But I’m excited about it. And a little stressed out.
On that note, I hope you enjoy the articles I linked to in this week’s SDS’s post… – and I’m going to go sit in a corner somewhere – knees to my chest, while rocking back and forth. ;]
